Connecticut Zouk

Buddy Valdez is a professional freelance dancer based in New York City. He formally trained at the San Francisco School of the Arts, the San Francisco Academy of Ballet, and The Juilliard School in NYC. Aside from classical, contemporary, and modern dance, Buddy is passionate about all forms of Latin social dance. His love for the 80’s lambada dates back to his childhood. In the mid-2000s, he happened upon a bar in NYC where a small group of people were dancing Brazilian Zouk. Since then, he has trained with some of the world’s leading Brazilian Zouk, Lambazouk, and Mzouk instructors privately and at congresses around the globe. Commercial credits as a featured dancer include NYFW, Fashion/One TV, Comedy Central, and Janet Jackson’s “Made for Now” music video. Buddy also has certifications to teach yoga, the Feldenkrais Method®️, and Mzouk.
